Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the anon0mesh off-grid protocol.

What makes anon0mesh different?

Unlike Signal, which requires an internet connection, or Briar, which doesn't support payments, anon0mesh combines encrypted offline messaging, peer-to-peer payments (Solana), and mesh networking into a single off-grid stack.

Is it secure?

Yes. We use the Noise protocol for forward secrecy and AES-256-GCM for encryption. Furthermore, Arcium's decentralized confidential computing ensures that data remains encrypted even during computation.

Is there a token?

No. anon0mesh currently has no token. We focus on being an open-source, private, decentralized infrastructure.

Do I need the internet to use the app?

No, core features like messaging and preparing transactions work entirely offline via Bluetooth Mesh. The network only syncs to the Solana blockchain when a mesh path to an internet-connected node is available.

Is it open source?

Yes. We believe in transparency for security tools. You can find our architecture and various components on our GitHub.

What about an iOS version?

We have received many inquiries regarding iOS. While our focus is currently on the devnet APK for Android due to BLE flexibility, an iOS version is on our roadmap.
